The Lake District contains England's highest mountains and its largest and most beautiful lakes.

Ambleside lies at the heart of the Lake District National Park and is beautifully situated in the Rothay Valley
one mile north of the head of Lake Windermere.
It nestles within the fells of Loughrigg, Fairfield and Wansfell and its central location
makes it the ideal spot from which to tour the Lake District. Its position makes it a major centre for
rock climbing, walking, cycling and sailing
whilst offering good access to most parts of the Lake District.
